Introducing Hempopolis: A Market with a Mission

At Hempopolis, our goal is to revolutionize the way we think about plastics. We’re committed to replacing fossil fuel plastics (FFPs) with sustainable, biodegradable alternatives made from hemp and other natural materials. Our mission is to create a platform that not only promotes eco-friendly products but also educates and empowers individuals to make a positive impact on the environment.

The Problem with Fossil Fuel Plastics

The production and disposal of FFPs have devastating consequences for our planet. Less than 10% of FFPs are actually recycled, while the majority are burned, dumped in landfills, or end up in our oceans. Not the only issue. This is a crisis that requires immediate attention and action.

The Solution: Hemp and Bioplastics

Fortunately, there are alternatives to FFPs. Biomaterials, made from renewable biomass sources such as hemp, offer a viable solution for well over 50% of current FFP applications. Hemp products, polymers. composites all hold vast potential. By promoting and supporting the development of these sustainable materials, we can significantly reduce our reliance on FFPs.

Our Approach

hempopolis.net will feature three main areas: the commerce section (main feature of site), a research area, and a news section dedicated to hemp and bioplastics. By combining these elements, we aim to create a comprehensive platform that not only provides access to eco-friendly products but also educates users about the benefits of sustainable living.

Local Focus, Global Impact

We believe in the importance of community engagement and localism. Our approach is centered around supporting local businesses and promoting sustainable practices that benefit both people and planet. By working together, we can create a global movement towards a more environmentally conscious future.

Get Involved

We’re excited to launch Hempopolis in 2025, with at least 1,000 products available on our platform. We invite you to join us on this journey and be part of the transition away from fossil fuels. If you have any questions or comments, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us at jim@hempopolis.net.

Thank you,
Jim Prues
